So far, many Cutting tool management systems are designed in the enterprises and investigation institutions around the world, less of which is relative to Cutting tool requirement plan or purchase but based on the mode of keeping business records. As storage administrators are unclear of storage information, which results in purchasing cutting tools random and at last serious overstock and fund waste. In order to strength competition of enterprise, reduce production cost and ensure the continuity of production, shorten the purchasing time and ensure information share among shops at the same time, a cutting tool order automatic generation system is researched and developed based on cutting tool management system and B/S mode, including the design project and realization process of the whole system, which solves the shop problems about cutting tool requirement and purchase.First, this paper analyzes the current problems of the cutting tool management system, describes the development status quo of cutting tool purchase, introduces the B/S mode and software technology used in system in detail, puts forward the method of cutting tool sort and coding on the base of the study about current cutting tool coding program, simply states the technology of JSP,JavaBean,user-defined tag, introduces two algorithms of automatic generation cutting tool order——TPS(Technics and production schedule) and IVF(Inserting value forecast), then introduces the algorithm flow and implementing program in detail. Designs the collectivity structure on base of demand analysis and the database with Power Designer, designs and develops every function module of the system according to software engineering criterion, builds up the system model with Rational Rose and Visio, at last sums up and analyzes running results.This system is successfully put in practice in 27 shop of Chongqing Company, and the running results indicate that this system accords with production practicality and has strong practicability. Besides, this system has friendly interface,simple operation, which is fit for other mechanical shops.
