In recent years, along with the fast fierce development of the Internet, the XML (extensible Markup Language) has become the Web standard of Data express and data exchange. Native XML Database is in the stage of entry-level, still having many lessons not solved. It is a hot topic that how to make use of the mature Relational Database to store availably and manage a great quantity of sea data so as to in one hand make it store, operate, maintain XML data effectively, and in the other hand make it issue, exchange XML data in convenience. Database is currently the main way of data storage and XML become gradually main data format, so it is natural for people hope for the combination of XML documents with database system. A kind of viable method is to save the XML documents into database , then to achieve seamless query between XML documents and database system. Because Relational Database System is far more mature and steady than other databases in the aspects of storage management, query optimization, concurrence control, affair management and so on, it becomes the emphases of research. The viable method is to adopt Relational Database System to store and operate XML data, to transform half structured data into structured data, to distill , synthesize, and analyze a variety of XML data by querying database. It is not only make use of relatively mature Relational Database technology, but also delegate the direction of future network.The article introduced the language of XML with the related knowledge, analyzing all kinds of mapping model from XML documents to relational storage, creating the schema of segmented bit vector coding, successfully storing XML documents into relational tables, and even more significant, achieved mapping model with high efficiency. On the base of segmented bit vector coding, The principle of how to store XML documents regardless of small or large scale into relational storage based on segmented bit vector coding scheme is discussed ,and the corresponding algorithms are also given.
