Study And Implementation Of Policy-based Conflict Detection System For Billing Rules

Telecommunications enterprises are making use of varieties of billing rules to improve enterprise efficiency and service quality. Billing system must be able to support these flexible billing rules. In order to solve the problem of portfolio decreasing which resulted from counting and achieve the goal of lean operation, the conflict detections of billing rules have become the hot topic in the current research of billing system. Conflict detection system can ensure veracity and flexibility of billing.This paper does primary research on the conflict detection system of billing based on rules. After discussing the billing rules and conflict features, we propose a modeling method for billing rules by specifying the Object Constraint Language(OCL). Using this model, we have designed a conflict detection method based on multidimensional vectors. The availability for one rule and the consistency between rules are supported well in this system. This paper describes how the availability and the consistency are supported in the conflict detection system. A prototype system has been developed based on our model. Finally, this paper shows an example to explain how the prototype system works.
