Design And Implementation Of Broadband IP MAN Management System

Presently,the broadband market has entered a rapid growing period in our country.Every communication provider constructed the broadband IP MAN (metropolitan area network) actively. However ,with the progress of the rapid growing scale of the network,new technologies,multi-manufacturers have made network management a complicated task .It will not meet the demands of the task using several independent vendors's The solution to manage the broadband network just like that in the past. This paper does the requirement analysis based on the real circumstances,brings forword the design project to build a broadband IP network management system based on the SNMP and WBM,and has realized the system.First, it introduces the background to build a local broadband network management system,introduces some technical principles of SNMP and WBM.Then it does requirement analysis for the functions and targets of the system,and it includes the management range, the collecting data and the requirement report. Later,it recounts the designing method and the general designing plan of the system in particulars which include the concrete functions of several subsystems of the system. Then, according to the requirement, it introduces the realization methods of the configuration management,performance management,malfunction management subsystems etc.At last,in the conclusion part,it brings forward some issues in the testing and applying stages of the system and the solutions to resolve these problems, then some deficiencies of the system and the recommended improvement methods,and does an overall comprehensive conclusion of this paper.This system has being used in the real environment for a period of time, and it does good works.Through the system, network administrators can query,configure,manage and collect statistics of managed network devices, carry statistics report forms of parameters of the managed devices, also they can discover malfunctions both occurred and potentialy exist in time and troubleshoot them accordingly and quickly.It greatly improves the work efficiency of network administrators,reduces the workload of everyday maintenance and management,and enhances the quality of the broadband network maintenance tasks.
