It is well known that the 21st Century is the time of Ocean development. Now days of China, it's population is in continuous growing, and resource in urgent demand, and day by day the environment getting contaminated. So it's meaningful for China to target on the Ocean. Thus the Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV), which serves as a platform for marine exploration, will become a hot research field.The work of this thesis is mainly concentrated on the underwater image denoising in the real underwater environment, targeted on improving the quality of the image, and it will be meaningful to the final purpose of pattern recognition.Because of the water's absorption and diffusion effects, the underwater image is rather undesirable .Not only is there uneven lightness distribution but also the SNR is quite low, and the contrast is not good as well. This thesis discussed the threshold wavelet denoising method based on Daubechies wavelet.Simulations validate all these methods and the results show that they are effective.
