Experiment shows high-pass filter can improve signal-to-noise ratio.Finally, the problem in the research and the problem needing to be solved in the future are analysesed. With the rapid development of economy in the 21st century, the resources has become the major task the world's facing. Improvement of science and technology makes seas and oceans become the new space where human survive and develope. Abundant marine resources can greatly alleviate world currently facing many difficulties in a certain extent, so the marine development has become a new economic position. But the awareness of the human to oceans is very limited, therefore, how to utilize marine resources effectively is a major issue the science worker facing.Human understands the marine by underwater filming, but because of the complexity of the underwater environment, harsh imaging conditions, the underwater images captured are often submerged in a variety of noise. The difficulties of underwater imaging and serious pollution of underwater images affect people on marine exploration.Therefore, it is one of the key issues de-noising underwater image to reflect a clear true underwater information.The process of underwater image pollution is very complex, underwater environment is different,the noise is different too. The purpose of this paper is combining wavelet and high-pass filter method for underwater image denoising to improve the image quality.First of all, this paper gave a brief introduction about wavelet denoising research and its application prospect and the basic theory of wavelet analysis. Three main methods about wavelet domain filtering de-noising, emphatically the wavelet threshold denoising method, are analyzed. Several classic threshold estimation method are instructed details.Secondly, the characteristics and the environment of the underwater image are introduced.Through establishing the mathematical model of backscatter, frequency range of backscatter noise is known,then we draw a conclusion that the high-pass filter can remove the backscatter noise of underwater image. Thirdly, on the basis of theoretical analysis, the algorithm of underwater image backscatter de-noising based on wavelet and high-pass filter is proposed,which overcomes the lack of the wavelet in underwater image processing. Experiment shows high-pass filter can improve signal-to-noise ratio.Finally, the problem in the research and the problem needing to be solved in the future are analysesed.
