It has become the core of 3G for the advantage of CDMA system in techniques, however, Multiple access interference(MAI), not only effects the performances of system badly ,but confines the improving of capacity. Multi-user detection(MUD) is a method of resisting MAI from receiver. It resists not only MAI, but near-far problem and multipath interference. So the MUD is one of key techniques in 3G mobile communication system.It is a new type and high performance joint MUD for iterative MUD, combining the idea of Turbo coding. This paper has been on studying iterative MUD. First, Author compares with the Turbo iterative coding algorithms, including MAP, soft out viterbi with considering the situation of home and abroad. Second, author emphasizes on iterative MUD theories and corresponding methods based on Turbo coding. Third author presents a simplified iterative MUD based on MMSE standard, and then, compares with the performances between the new algorithm and the conventional algorithms in AWGN channel and Rayleigh channel. The results of simulation prove that the new algorithm and conventional algorithms have the similar correlation performance, however, the new algorithm has a less computational complexity. At last, author summarizes the studying results, and views the development and application foreground in future.
