The Space agency of many countries pay attention to the development and the technology renovation of The Space TT&C Net .Now,there is little research on the using of TCP/IP for long distance communication of the Space TT&C date. The success of the using of TCP/IP for Space TT&C Net overseas speeds up the renovation of our Space TT&C Net.For the particularity of Space TT&C Net,there are some problems in the using of TCP/IP for Space TT&C Net. So, This paper does research on the using of TCP/IP for Space TT&C Net.Space TT&C Net is composed by the terrestrial and satellite net. This paper first proves the feasibility of using TCP/IP for the terrestrial net of Space TT&C Net. Then, we describe and evaluate some design alternatives and related work that addresses the problems of using TCP/IP in the satellite networks, including the end to end approach, the split connection approach and the link layer approach. Then we introduce the TCP-Peach protocol in detail and a new enhancement to TCP based on the TCP-Peach scheme is introduced to improve upon the performance of TCP in satellite networks. This method is a kind of the end to end approach, based on the novel concept of using dummy segments to probe the availability of network resources in order to using the network resources more effectively. For the packet loss caused by the link error,it can recover the congestion windows quickly,so the goodput of TCP in satellite net can be improved. In the rest of this paper, the proposed method and the TCP-Peach method have been implemented and compared with the TCP-Reno by using the network simulator tool OPNET. It has been shown that TCP-Peach can improve the performance of TCP in satellite networks obviously, and the new method can improve the performance of TCP over satellite networks furthermore ,it can greatly improve the performance of TCP than TCP-Peach and TCP-Reno in satellite networks.
