| In this paper, the characteristics of video sequences are discussed and the correlation of video sequences is analyzed in intra-frames and inter-frames,and some important results are obtained.Also,wavelet transform and its use in video compression are studied.Based on analysis of video sequences,this paper presents several lossy compression schemes of video sequences.Two schemes of video coding are given,namely, noise-mixed rate-constrained self-organising vector quntisation and motion compensated 3-D wavelet transform combined with fuzzy c-means based vector quantization. Experimental results show that these two coding schemes performance well in video compression,with a high PSNR of reconstruction data.Also, we have improved a video coding scheme based on 3-D wavelet transform and motion compensation in real-time transmission. Experemental results show that this scheme has an exellent performance on low bit-rate video compression. Many results show a fact that,compared with traditional DCT transform,wavelet transform has a great advantage,and it will surely be broadly used in video compression. |
