Ultrasonic Testing(UT)is the most wildly used method of non-destructive testing(NDT), which can detect and evaluate flaws without affecting its structure, But most of the domestic produts of ultrasonic defect detection are bounded by the complex high cost, long development cycles and difficulties of implement sofware, whose designs and operations are inflexiable. To overcome those disadvantages, a virtual ultrasonic defect detecing instrument based on the concept of Virtual Instrument(VI)is presented in this paper. First ,the thesis gives the summarization of the working pinciple of the reflected pulse ultrasonic testor. Second, the thesis describes datailedly how to invent a dummy ultrasonic testor in the program environment in LabVIEW . The paper contents are as follows:the show of the operational panel, the demacate of the inclined detector, the disposal of the ultrasonic echo of the flaws, the plot of the DAC curve, the analysis of the frequency and the power spectrum of the dector, the storage and hte read of the data. The design introductes the C programme in the LabVIEW by using the dll, which combines the high efficiency of the C programme with the abundance panel and the funcion dtabase.
