With the increasing informationization of the society, people attach more and more importance to the effectiveness and efficiency of E-Learning. The wide application of Learning (Content) Management System (abbr. L(C)MS) is the symbol of the new achievement in the field of E-Learning, and in the other hand, it accelerates vigorous development of the E-Learning and hence becomes the core technological fundament of the implementation of E-Learning. Most pedagogic and learning activities are fulfilled in the L(C)MS.The current L(C)MSs has enough advancement for supporting the sharing and inter-operating of learning content, but they have not provide a solution for sharing of pedagogic and learning processes and integrating the supporting tools. The current L(C)MSs is used to mainly support single learning task of low-level granularity other than the whole learning process, they have not provide a integrative technology for all aspects of E-Learning, and they also neglect the reusability of applications in the them. What's more, the individual learning pattern does not work very well under the current L(C)MSs.We adopt the concept and mechanism of workflow and Web Service in this dissertation to solve the above problems in the L(C)MS. We utilize the process-oriented attribute of workflow to solve the wholeness-lacking problems, and generate a structured and more precise learning path. The information flow and sharing scheme of workflow can help us integrate staff and material resources effectively in order to support every aspects of learning process. We analyze the mapping relations between workflow and pedagogic and learning process supported by L(C)MS, and probe into the feasibility of the application of workflow in the L(C)MS. Then we categorize the workflows in L(C)MS into 4 branches based on the roles:...
