The quality of the injection molding products is mainly connected to the kinds of the polymer, mold design and injection process parameters setup and so on. The previous two factors are constant during the process of injection molding, only the plastic process parameters can be regulated by the operator with the injection process and experience knowledge. Therefore, regulating injection process parameters can decrease or remove defect when the product has the poor quality because of the defect. So it is important to regulate injection process parameters for final removing defects when the products have poor quality. The conventional method diagnoses plastic product's defects and optimizes process parameters manually, which is deeply depend on the operator's knowledge and experience. So it is significant to design and develop an expert system for improving the quality of the product based on the expert experience and knowledge.This paper mainly studies the effect relationship between injection process parameter and product quality, and applies artificial intelligent based on knowledge into injection process parameter analysis. We transform the expert experience and knowledge in injection products defects into a format accepted by CLIPS(C Language Integrated Production System), establish injection product defects analysis knowledge base. Then we utilize CLIPS uncertain inference engine and fuzzy technique to accomplish knowledge inference, hence realize the intelligent diagnosis and analysis of injection product defects.The knowledge base is an important part of injection product defects analysis expert system, and is the basis and premise of expert system to make reasoning. This paper gains ten kinds of common injection product defects knowledge by concluding expert experience and applying injection reference books then expresses these relative expert experience and knowledge to a production rule accepted by CLIPS to build injection product analysis knowledge base. Fuzzy technique is used to deal with the uncertainty knowledge of product defects and corresponding rules.Inference engine is the organization and control construction of expert system.
