With the rapid development of Internet, the number of internet customers has doubled, the shortage of the IPv4 IP address resources has become the biggest obstacle of the network's development.The emergence of IPv6 Protocol solved this problem, moreover, it shows the characteristics of working faster, larger, safer, more timely and more convenient.The next generation Internet provided our country with the equal development opportunities with the advanced countries in science and technology all around the world.Currently the research of IPv6 is already mature in the aspect of theories, but it still has big development space in applications.The video monitoring system has been widely used, we can see it in the fields of banking, transportation, teaching, medical treatment, etc. How. to create more effective compression algorithms, provide QoS and ensure security when delivering video information have become popular in the video monitoring system.IPv6 has brought a new direction in this application because of its excellent QoS and network security.DirectX SDK is a kind of programming interface developed by Microsoft. It provides high performance when developing graphics, audio, video and network game with Windows operation system. Developing video monitoring system with its member DirectShow, can free a programmer from the burdensome work of data delivering, hardware difference and synchronization.This dissertation firstly expatiated on the building of IPv6's experimental system, programming of IPv6's multicast transmission, the capturing and transmitting method of video. Then, the author combined VC.NET and DirectShow techniques to develop the module of the network, and made use of JSP techniques to implement customer software based on browser. Afterward, analysed and studied thoroughly on how to improve the safety of the network. Based on this, we put forward the designing thoughts, combining various measures in order to ensure the system safety.In the conclusion part, the dissertation reviewed and prospected on the future.
