Development of information technology, has brought about profound influence on the study of human being, information represents more and more easily being apperceived;And the mode of engendering, distributing and searching of information has being changed with each passing day;the timeliness of information diffusing has developed towards "exchanging information with others conveniently at any moment and everywhere". These all has changed the people's producing and life styles, also has changed the mankind's study method, speed the footstep of knowledge-based economy ages, has become important factor of influencing education and teaching reform. The technology of IM (Instant Messenger) that is based on IP narrowband instant communication technology, has changed the form that transmitting instantly only on text originally, and has realized the information transmission form with text, sound, images, video and multimedia on real time, not on real time, synchronously and un synchronously. And which also has brought about direct influence on fulfillment of the teaching mode. This research is at the premise of the excavation of the teaching function of IM, to make primary investigation and study for IM teaching application mode.Firstly, at the premise of analyzing the functions of several kinds of popular IM, the study carries the excavation of the primary teaching functions of IM. By adopting cultural heritages analysis to analyze the domestic and international teaching application and the related research of IM, has investigated to discover that, although the usage of IM is very universal, the application for it to different teaching link, especially to the educational system with purpose and plan, and the related research of its application mode, is still blank up to the present. That is the basis of this study. Combined the purpose and mission of this research and the property of the topics, put forward the purpose and the method of this research.Next, in order not to deviate the connotation and extension of concept, at the second part, studies some definition of related concepts, and describes the functions applied into teaching, by comparison research for simple functions of several kinds popular IM, analyzing its network teaching application, to establish the research.IM teaching application mode is the bridge for teaching principle and practice in the related environment. In the third part, discusses the interrelated thesis of IM teaching environment, in order to make the IM teaching mode have value to use. Puts forward the edutainment and its instruction effect into IM network teaching, analyses the rationality and importance of putting experience learning into IM network teaching. And also combining the basic thought of the activity theories provides the theories for psycho logic education for all-round development of IM network teaching, discusses the essence of dialogue. Pointed out some new principles used in the IM network teaching (include: the cooperating learning, interaction, joy to teaching and network metaphor), to guide the construction of teaching application mode and the exploration of teaching practice under the network IM teaching environment.Fore foundation of research up, puts forward" circular interaction " IM teaching application mode and gives particular description and research for the object, composing essentials, basic structure, operating procedure, basic strategies and evaluating and feedback principles. Analyses the strategies of "the circular interaction mode centered cognition structure" of IM network teaching, designs the active types and relationship between teachers and students. End, takes two examples on the basic concrete content, designs the concrete interaction mode under the IM teaching environment, to make this research have certain leading meaning for practice.This research is a primary discuss of IM teaching by the author, and expect to rise some follow-up researches for the teaching and practice of IM. Be restricted by time and other conditions, there are many problems need to be researched in the future. After the research, we discovery some questions about the process, and make a necessary introspect of the thesis in the end.
