Research And Design Of Instant Messenger Message Monitoring System

Instant messenger software based on peer to peer technology has been fashionableall over the world. Although it bring people much convenience, it is also used by theeroticism and reactive, imperiling the nation and society's security and makingcorporations face problems such as leaking of technology, low work efficiency and highcost of network. Therefore, thorough analysis of Instant messenger software's modeland protocol and the design of instant messenger message monitoring system isimportant to our national network and information security.The paper deeply studies the pivotal technologies of instant messenger messagemonitoring. Three major problems in the implementation of message monitoring aresolved. One is the identification of message protocol of instant messenger software. Theother two is capturing network datagram and data sharing between kernel space anduser space.On the basis of the research of monitoring pivotal technologies instant messengermessage monitoring system applied to Linux gateway is designed by technologiesrelated to the subject. The re-development based on the firewall managing tool-Netfilter/iptable that Linux provides is done to implement systemic functions. At thesame time it solves the efficient problem of message monitoring to improve systemperformance as a whole. Finally, the system is tested under the simulation of 100Mnetwork environment.
