This paper aimed at study of working-face, expounded how to design and realize the Dynamic Forecasting Expert System of Working-face Roof in detail. The primary study content is as follows:First, we established the knowledge base by adopting the methods of Object-Oriented knowledge expression, described the rule, fact and the object being studied in the form of class. In virtue of Object-Oriented knowledge expression, we can express static characters and dynamic behavior of the object conveniently, the effect between the objects included. The arrangement and assembling relation of the classes reduced the redundancy of knowledge expression. The encapsulation and inheritance of the class advantaged knowledge updating and expansion.Second, we studied the ratiocination mechanism. We could use flexible ratiocination mechanism according to which kind of domain knowledge and ratiocination mechanism the object possessed. Because of its distributed character, Object-Oriented knowledge ratiocination could partition ratiocination room automatically via the relationship of class and object, which improved the efficiency ratiocination.Using the expert system, we can ratiocinate the dynamic of the working-face roof scientifically in the process of extracting, we can evaluate the maintenance quality of the working-face roof, either. The expert system is provided with data processing function, it can disposal the data collecting from the ground pressure observation, and output them in forms of graph or statistics, the graph or statistics can be printed. The HCI of the system is kind, can be operated conveniently and managed scientifically.
