This paper discussed the design of tax checking module of tax collection subsystem based on Liaoning Provincial Local Tax Information Management System combining ASP.NET and 3-tier architecture technology.ASP.NET is a new visual technology for developing application system proposed by Microsoft and will be introduced in Microsoft next operating system. Based on its powerful capability, tax checking module was developed using ASP.NET technology and this paper discussed ASP.NET and 3-tier architecture technology.This module is built upon B/S structure and the core problem is to solve data security and user authentication. ASP.NET provides some solutions to data security that will be discussed later. User identification is validated according to different identity owning different rights regulation. In addition, the whole system is divided into 3-tier in functionality, representation level, business logic level and data level respectively. The system combined .NET and multi-tier distributed software based on HTTP as protocol of communicating client and server, .NET framework 1.1 as parsing environment and IIS6.0 as web server. The system adopted C# design pattern in which 3 technologies are used, including ASP.NET, JAVASCRIPT, XML. The paper detailed how to print note and access database remotely. Furthermore, VS.NET is introduced which is an integrated development environment for ASP.NET and can be extended by adding components.The system is in use, which can be cross-platform and be provided with migration, reuse, efficiency and security.
