Nowadays, as a result of the development of economy, more and more environmental accidents happen, causing great pollution and loss, threatening the health of people around. By analyzing the air pollution dispersion of accident, we managed to simulate the expansion of air pollution on the basis of the predictive model and the exterior condition that affect the process. In this way, we get a reference to deal with the accident. The research is focused on the factors having effects on dispersion of the pollutant, as well as the theory of air pollution transport and models used to estimate the concentrations of the pollutant, by which the simulation is dealt with. The system integrated both pollution dispersion and geographical information to complete the visualization of massive amounts of result generated by simulation. Using the data of the source and meteorological parameters, users are able to obtain the concentration of pollutant as the assistant for accident analyzing and environment protection. To attain this purpose, this paper researched on the models of air pollution and integration of dispersion models and GIS. It's introduced as follows:In the 1st part, this talk gives the outline of the research from the view of requirement of project, and refers to the achievement in the field. The approach of the research is presented.In the 2nd part, the modeling of air pollution is investigated. This part analyzed the conditions influencing the dispersion, including meteorological and geographical factors. According to the dispersion source and geographical condition, models are selected to compute the concentration of pollutant. Considering the certain situation of the project, Gaussian model is selected.In the 3rd part, the simulation by analyzing the result computed from modeling is emphasized. In this way, the concentration of the pollutant is presented. This part makes use of the method of computer graphics and draws contours to simulate the concentration of the pollutant.In the 4th part, the foundation of the simulation system is introduced, in which the background of the project is introduced and the design as well as development of the system is researched. At last, one module that deals with accidents is investigated.In the 5th part, the design and realization of the simulation system is introduced.In the end, all of the contributions are summed up and the conclusions about the works are presented. In addition, some unsolved problems and future research works are proposed.
