Although with the Semantic Web initiative much research on web page semantic annotation has already been done by AI researchers, linguistic text annotation, was originally developed in Corpus Linguistics and its results have been somehow neglected by AI. The purpose of the research presented in this proposal is to prove that integration of results in both fields is not only possible, but also highly useful in order to make Semantic Web pages more machine-readable. A multi-level annotation model based on special complex sentence semantic annotation standards and Ontological Semantics, implemented with last generation Semantic Web languages is being developed to fit the needs of both communities.The goal of this paper is to present the results of our research on how linguistic annotation can help computers understand the text contained in a Semantic Web document. Special efforts are being devoted to finding a way of conjugating and identifying complementarities between the semantic annotation models from AI and the annotations proposed by Corpus Linguistics.Ontology-based semantic annotation tool makes use of the semantic information of pre-existing ontology to insert semantic meta-data for making the contents of Web pages machine-understandable. The work of annotation tools is the basis for semantic web construction.Firstly, this paper needs to establish linguistic ontology. Complex sentence have more meaning than single sentence as a kind of syntactic unit, and their structure are also quite complex. Establishing the ontology model of the complex sentence helps to understand all the concept of the domain and the semantics between them more freely, and it's a basic of recognizing the semantics of the complex sentence by the computer automatically. This paper analyses the structure of the complex sentence and picks up the main concept of this domain. Then it introduces the ontology, and the basic modeling primitives are applied to construct the conceptual modeling of the complex sentence based on ontology. It extends the semantic relationship to embody the latent semantics fully, and expresses it out. Then we use OWL to describe the ontology.Then, this paper presents the principle of ontology-based semantic annotation, and it analyzes and summarizes current ontology-based semantic annotation tools, aims at establishing complex sentence-oriented semantic annotation based on ontology. It specifies suitable annotation explain and criterion of marked complex sentence ontology. It designs a special Chinese information processing-oriented semantic annotation model based on ontology.
