Semantics Analysis Of The Chinese Complex Sentence Based On Ontology

Natural Language Understanding is one of the most classical problems in the AI area. There are a lot of researches in domestic and overseas at the present time. Concerned to Chinese information processing, it should contain character processing, words processing, sentences processing and paragraph processing. Up to now the groundwork of Chinese understanding studies is very week, and there have not come out any successful Chinese semantic analysis systems. At the same time, there have not any perfect semantics frameworks. Now Chinese information processing researches are basically resting on the "characters and words processing" stage, and most researching products are based on characters and words. Researches on sentences especially complex sentences are comparatively rare. The reason is probably of the difficulty of Chinese language which has flexible syntax and semantics, unstable form, and is much different from the western language.Chinese sentences can be divided into two classes by structure, and they are simple sentences and complex sentences. The meaning capability of complex sentences is usually much bigger than single sentences, and they often present the logical meaning relations between people and people, things and things, or people and things. Complex sentences constitute of clauses, and each clause is a single sentence viewed from its structure. Complex sentence has complex and special structure of its' own, and it's a kind of connection of single sentences. As a sort of syntax entity, complex sentence connects single sentences as its down level and connects paragraph as its up level. It has a good linking up function between single sentences and paragraphs, and it also have many properties among syntaxes , semantics and pragmatics. So researches on Chinese complex sentence semantics facilitate the NLP from the characters and words level to the sentence or even the paragraph level.In this essay we first introduce some related concepts about ontology and the object-oriented ontology meta-modeling method. Next we talk about the Chinese language characteristics and the current researching state of Chinese sentence processing. In this essay, we analyses the static structure of the Chinese simple sentence in details and construct its meta-model through the object-oriented ontology meta-modelingmethod. The structure of the Chinese complex sentence also would be analyzed, as well as its relationship with the Chinese simple sentence. Based on this meta-model and model, we put forward algorithms of analyzing the semantics of simple sentences and complex sentences. At last we will get the ontology presentation of the Chinese complex sentence which makes the machine understanding the sentences better.
