Therefore, it is bound to become a hot topic in China's media market. Twoapproaches can be adopted to make hard news affect public opinion—selecting thefacts, constructing the factual and emotional messages, and interpreting theinformation of opinion. Various types of expressing viewpoints exist in hard newsreporting, of which the key lies in specifying and creating the context.Hard news represents typical characteristics of news texts, including briefness,readability, and closeness of the text meaning. Currently, the media environment isexperiencing unprecedented changes, which makes two characteristics of hard newstexts able to develop farther—openness and refinement. Refinement includesbriefness, which regards headline and lead as news. This thesis is dedicated to theresearch of one-step news writing and hard news text optimizing, which meansaudience can grasp the information once reading the news. Hard news text optimizingincorporates but amends the concept of softening the hard news. It is proposed thatheadline and lead are the key factors of one-step news writing.The openness of news texts contains broader implications, which includesopinion-expressing as well as editing techniques. This study creatively argues thatdynamic truth theory stands as the theoretic support of in-depth hard news. In-depthhard news is the perfect junction point of dynamic news story and in-depth reports,which is characterized with speed, readability, and deepness. At last, a solution to theconstructive contradiction between deepness, speed, and length is provided.
