The wireless sensor network (WSN) is a rising next generation network, which connects a series of sensors in the way of self-organization. A WSN is designed to detect events or phenomena, collect and process data, and transmit sensed information to interested users, In recent years, it has received increasing attention and became one of the focuses in researching. WSN has a significant application prospect in the field of military affairs, environment engineering and health care. On the background of that, Researching on how to apply WSN on remote monitoring and control has great significance. Take given working condition and cost into consideration, this paper gives a solution based on newly WSN and traditional Ethernet, which combine WSN with an embedded web server. This solution can use network infrastructure what we have built sufficiently. What's more, it breaches the limitation of WSN and enhances the reliability of data transmission. On the base of what we have achieved in WSN before. This paper emphasizes on web server and puts forward a scheme of embedded web server implementation on16-bit MCU. It included Ethernet interface and TCP/IP protocol. Both of them have been introduced in this paper. Ethernet interface include hardware circuit realization with 16-bit microprocessor, Ethernet control chip and driver of Ethernet control chip.TCP/IP protocol is a huge and complicated protocol. But 16-bit microprocessor's resource is limited, and processing speed is not fast enough. It is impossible to implement the whole protocols, we should reduce TCP/IP protocols. This paper introduces the whole TCP/IP protocol and analysis what is necessary in an embedded web server. To provide web service on a web server, the following protocol is absolutely necessarily. One is HTTP protocol, which lies on application layer, responsible for request and response. The other is TCP protocol, providing the reliability of net connection, it is locate in transmission layer. What on the net layer is IP protocol, take charge of data transmission. The last one is ARP, convert IP addressto physical address, and vice versa. Finally, this paper summarizes the design and usage. Then it presents some future improvements.
