With the fast development of modern information technology, the information to be processed increases immensely. The researches and applications of image processing, especially realtime image processing,catch great interests from researchs all over the world. In recent years, the development of DSP(digital signal processing) technology has put the theory achievement of digital signal processing field into practical application systems and pushed the progress of new theory and application. At the same time, it plays an important role in the field of image processing. The DSP-based image processing system can be applied in many kinds of practical fields.The real-time image processing technology has extensive application foreground in medicine area. The cell recognition automatic system based on the blood swatch pictures recognizes the cell and gives then the number of cell through series image processing and analysis under the environment of DSP and VC. It can provide basis for clinic diagnoses.TMS320C62xx is specially used in areas of image process and communication produced by TI. Using TMS320C62xx in real-time image processing is significant to improve the real-time quality of the system, reduce the volume and the power exhaustion of the system.For accurate count of the cell, software development of DSP in the system of real-time image processing is mainly researched in this paper. Based on analyzing characteristic of cell image, aiming at the characteristic of cell image, a great deal of noise and low contrast, combining the characteristic of TMS320C62xx, 3 X 3 median filter algorithm and quick median filter algorithm is ameliorated for the purpose of improving processing speed. Based on the research of TMS320C62xx program and code optimization, 3 X 3 median filter algorithm ameliorated, histogram equiangular algorithm, threshold treatment, image erosion and expansion is realized. The key code effecting process speed is optimized and the effect is good.Transfer of image data is often one of bottleneck of the system in real-time imageprocessing. DMA(Direct Memory Access) should be used as often as possible to transfer block data, in order to alleviate the press of data transfer. EDMA(Enhance DMA) is used to realize input and output video data, and a scheme of two buffers is designed for input and output of video data in this paper. QDMA(Quick DMA) is used to transfer image data between extra memory and buffer of inter memory.The paper gives the corresponding arithmetic under the CCS(code composer studio) and VC environment, studies the CCS development of DSP code, initialization and allocation of memory. It discusses the question in the code conversion process from VC code to DSP code and gives effective advice. Arithmetic debugging and validation is actualized base on the CCS environment.
