The Research Of Network Storage System Based On P2P

With the development of network technology, people pay more and more attentions to the network storage technology. There are two problems need to be solved on the network storage field. Firstly, the traditional network storage just aims to the research of server device and ignores the process ability of the clients. Secondly, there are so many shared resources on the network, how to organize all kinds of shared resources and form a huge virtual storage space is a problem that the network storage technology faces.The P2P technology is good at the sharing of compute ability and storage ability. All the nodes are equal in the P2P system, and they are both clients and servers, therefore they not only enjoy the service, but also they provide it for the others. So every node can contribute the capability for the service of the P2P system. How to apply the P2P technology to the network storage and share the storage ability of user's computer are two problems, which many experts are researching as a subject.A network storage system based on P2P is designed in this paper, it connects all the nodes to form a virtual storage space by P2P technology, and it's a kind of center style P2P storage system, the central server can control and coordinate all the nodes in the system, and the net addresses and the information of resource are preserved in the center server. The user can find the resource that he want through searching the catalogue in the central server, and set up the link to the node on which the shared resource is stored and transfer the shared resource.The P2P storage system has several advantages because of some original ideas being adopted in its design. Firstly, the P2P storage system can reduce the cost of ISP and decrease the storage pressure of server. The total storage capacity is the sum of every node's capacity. More users join the system, shared resource is richer. Secondly, the P2P storage system can make full use of the capability of user's computer and show the P2P's advantages on document exchanging. More users joinit, the speed is more quickly.Many original functions are designed in this system. For example, the shared document can backup to the central server. In general P2P storage system, the followed situation often happens: when a node is going to download some shared document, unfortunately, the node preserving it just exits the system. The situation can be solved by the above way. We can backup some shared documents according tto some rules. When the above situation happens, the node can download the document from the center service instead.
