In order to analyze the power and economy status of hybrid electric urban bus and monitor its running situation, we need to collect the status data from certain hardware parts of the bus. Therefore the acquisition of the data is very important for monitoring and debugging of the completed bus. This project plans to finish such a data collection system that based on DSP and PC. The system uses CAN (Controller Area Network) and serial port as the communication interface. It is a system with data gathering, data transmitting and data storing.CAN, Controller Area Network, is a kind of serial communication bus defined by ISO, which appears in car industry by the end of the 80 s at first. Its basic design specification demands to have high speed of bit rate, high resistance of electromagnetic interfering, and be able to detect any mistake during the transmition. CAN bus is used widely in car and aircraft manufacturing industry.μC/OS-II is a Non-Preemptive Real Time Kernel. It is a kind of kernel specially designed for embedded devices. Now it has already been transplanted to more than 40 kinds of different CPUs, from 8bit to 64bit.This project studies and solves the following problems: (1) development of DSP initialization function library. (2) transplant of COS-II in DSP. (3) DSP and PC communication agreement determine. (4)data collection and control systematic programming on PC. This system is divided into two parts, includes PC and DSP. DSP gathers data as a main controller with the way of CAN communication from automobile's hardware parts. Through simple processing these data is dispatched to PC for further processing. Additionally, this paper makes an overall introduction to the technology that the system development concerned with, such as digital signal processing (DSP), CAN bus and real time kernel etc.
