The research on production scheduling is a very active and popular subject towhich more and more attention has been paid by both academia and industry. Thehybrid processes consisted of both of continuous and discrete production processes, isvery difficult to analyze and control. The dissertation focused on productionscheduling methods of hybrid production processes. In the dissertation, we first state general production planning and schedulingproblems and drawbacks of classical solutions. Then, a theoretical decomposition-and scroll-based approach is introduced to solve the problem of production scheduling. We first study the scheduling of discrete and continuous production processes, andthen we use the results to further study the scheduling of hybrid production processes. In discrete production processes, we introduce the idea of the sliding windows tothe study of this scheduling problem. By virtue of the some advantageous propertiesof the sliding windows, such as the optimization and the ideal controllability, wepresent an algorithm which is more practical than the existed ones. In order tostimulate the production plan, we describe a new term called "quasi-order". Thealgorithm raised in this paper is based mainly on the classification-scheduling of themain equipments corresponding to the product orders and is of robust. By using thealgorithm, we can meet the aim as we set before the production. To adapt to thevariable environment, the algorithm studied in this paper can adjust itself so as tosolve the production problem with artificial constraints. In studying continuous production processes, the method of decomposition andscroll is adopted. In order to determine starting of each sub-processes, we proposed aheuristics scheduling algorithm. Inventory management is very important inmultistage production processes. According to the demand of inventory, weintroduced a method for the algorithm. On the basis of these methods and the analysisof the primary section, we can solve the problem of the production schedule in thecontinuous production processes. Base on our extensive study of many scheduling methods, we applied ourscheduling algorithm in the Production Scheduling System of MES for tobaccofactory.
