Tag is one of the use of RFID(Radio Frequency Identification)technology in stream. Based upon a good knowledge of the relevant theory and technology, this article introduces an RFID tag complying with ISO15693, and puts emphasis on Analog Front End (AFE) design.Tag IC can be devided into AFE, digital block and memory according to function, among which the AFE is crucial. Aiming at passive tag AFE ,whose feature is low cost and less area, this article gives new guess and concrete circuit topology before simulate it. The result shows it fits for the request. This thesis begins with demonstrating RFID technology merit and its application,then explains tag IC design procedure:this chapter first clarifies the whole RFID system work theorem.The whole RFID system can be partitioned into three portions:reader, tag and antenna.The tag is made up by off chip coil inductance,capacitance and an IC,among which the off chip inductance and capacitor forms the parallel resonance circuit and gains energy from the electromagnetism field the reader emits out,which is the power source of the tag IC.By the way,we outlines international standard ISO15693(RF); this is followed by the coil model,for the coil composes the indunctance of the parallel resonance circuit.Finally we look into the tag and specify the AFE design in detail.AFE includes voltage source generating circuit,clock exaction circuit and modulate/demodulate circuits.We design the concrete circuit topology,then analyse these circuit work flow and deduce partial circuit parameter.After theory analyzing ,we simulate these circuits using Cadence Spectre,with the SMIC 0.6μm CMOS technology library.The results indicates it can work well.
