The Research And Realization Of Time Management In Workflow Management System

With the rapid extension of Internet and Intranet, some kinds of software systems have been greatly evolved, especially the Workflow Management System WFMS. The main intention of WFMS is the automation of procedures where document, information or tasks are passed between participants according to a predefined set of rules to achieve an overall business goal. WFMS mainly controls the processes and the lifecycle of the process instances, especially the management of the time dimension. Time management works on the executive schedules of the processes, and provides simple and effective mechanism to improve the efficiency of the process management. The thesis points out the signification and the essentiality of developing WFMS and implementing time management in this project, then analyzes the contents and the operating manner of time management in WFMS, and selects the contents of time management supported by the workflow management system of this project according to the requirement . To accomplish this purpose, the thesis designs the architecture of time management, and puts forward the modeling method based on BPEL4WS and the mechanism of time constraint in this system. Finally the thesis introduces the realization scheme in this project from such three aspects as the class diagram, the timing sequence diagram and the idiographic method of the realization. In conclusion the thesis gives an example to explain how time constrains act on the processes and validate the modeling method and the realization scheme in this project.
