Design And Implementation Of Accessing The Database Through Mobile Web Applications With Web And Windows Applications Using .NET Technology

Designing and accessing databases from a Local Area Network or from a remote computer around the world is the most fascinating and attracting field of nowadays computing as the computer science is set to break distances and to transform the world into a small village. In my project I will conceive and implement a database through multiple applications using .NET technology. I have mainly interest in three applications which are: Windows Applications, Web based Applications, Mobile web applications.This project is applied on Customers and sales management system (CSMS) of World Mobile Company which a company is selling any kind of mobile phones. This company found it necessary to modernize its existing manual customer and sales management system in order to be competent and efficient within the existing free market economy.Therefore, the aim of the project is to take the advantages provided by the modern day information technology to enhance the company from its existing manual operation to completely digital and computerized management system. Starting this computerization from Windows Applications (local area network applications) to Web Applications (web based application using computer and the Internet) and finally Mobile Web Applications using mobile devices such as cellular phones to access the database.The company changed its old system of paper catalogs and installed a windows application for customers at its stores. This application is somehow tiresome to customers as they have to come to the company and get registered.The Company realized this fact after conducting a customer survey and the general tendency is found that the customers want a system which can be flexible and accessible from their homes where they can browse catalogs and place orders without having to move out to the company. Hence a great request for a Web Application is being introduced by customers and as the company is there to satisfy customers, this request is taken with consideration and concern. This has introduced the second part of the project as a Web Application which is designed for customers and administrators of the company.The third part of the application being developed is accessing the database using mobile devices such as cellular phones and is called Mobile Web Applications. Here the application enables users to access data on their handheld devices. This part is being supported by the company to enhance the facility and flexibility of the system so that users can not only access the system from their desks but also they can do so using their cellular phones connected to the net.Finally, let me mention that the project was tested successfully as well as on Mobile and Web Based Applications and also on Windows Application.
