Information is a kind of treasure. With the development of computer technology and the popularization of network, the digital information is more and more common in our daily life, and the problem of information resource security becomes more and more important. There are many kinds of way to protect information security, there into; data encryption is an effective way. As the Internet is not safe upon itself, it has many flaws and is easy to be attacked from various aspects. Therefore, taking some protective measures to information itself is a valid way of data security.Map is a kind of particular publication, it relates to the state sovereignty, glory and information security of the country. So it requests high security. It is very important to protect the data security when transmitting files of the map in long-distance. Vector graphics is a data form of special important in map edition and publication. This paper researches on the cryptographic algorithms during network transmission of vector data. It introduces several traditional data encryption algorithms point by point, analyzes data security in network, and applies mixed encryption to protect the security of vector data.
