The Research And Implementation Of The Multicasting On IPv6 Environment

With developing of the Internet,more and more people log on the web, original IP addresses are not enough for the demand of development.To solve the increasingly severity problem ,the new IPv6 protocol emerge as the times require. IP version 6 (IPv6) is a new version of the Internet Protocol,designed as the successor to IP version 4 (IPv4). IPv6 increases the IP address size from 32 bits to 128 bits, to support more levels of addressing hierarchy, a much greater number of addressable nodes, and simpler auto-configuration of addresses.The IPv4 network has been run for nearly 20 years, so it's very difficult that the IPv6 will replace the IPv4 .The research show that the application on IPv6 isn't more high-quality than IPv4. So that there is a lack of application is a terrible problem that IPv6 can't mass business apply.IPv6 multicast is more high-quality than others. It needs great deal of IP address.So IPv6 multicast maybe become IPv6 Killer application.This dissertation introduce the IPv6 protocol and muticast basic knowledge, and then analyse Berkeley Socket, Windows Socket and .Net Framework Socket. The core point of the dissertation introduce two IPv6 multicast project—IPv6 multicast chatand IPv6 multicast file transfer system.In the conclusion part, the dissertation reviews and takes prospect on the future research.
