The Research And Realization Of The Home Gateway Based On The Embedded Technology

The soaring and booming development of network and communication technology into human being's life raises people's demands for automation and information of household appliances, which challenges improved flexibility of machine control and better convenience to obtain external information. The implementation of these requirements is firmly connected to the home network in which the home gateway, as the interface associating internal home network and the external network, comes into the core of research. Adopting the relative research achievements home and abroad, following the "Well-being Society" residential building standards issued by the Construction Ministry of China, conforming to the Chinese household requests, a set of home Gateway is devised.Supposed to be applied in the background of a broad-band residential complex, based on the embedded Linux operational system and Internet technology, an embedded Web server is completed in the gateway. As a result, the application program of server terminal is explored, which enables possibility of communication between the home gateway and external Internet network, and Web service in a family is accomplished. Based on the Bluetooth technology, a wireless home network centered in home gateway is constructed, and a communication protocol between the home gateway and electrical appliances is designed. Therefore, it is possible for a user to log in the host web page of the home network. Through the Internet browser whenever he is, thus remote control on his electrical appliances is implemented. This home gateway fulfils the connection and protocol switch between high-speed network and low-speed control.The application of embedded database technology in this home gateway features this paper as well. Embedded database is a technique which thrives recently. There are quite a few differences between operation mode and environment of embedded database, and the corporation database management system which is more frequently seen.A large quantity of data collection and disposition is required in embedded home gateway. Data disposition usually falls into two categories: one is based on document mode; the other database. As to the former one, it costs a user more to do I/O operation on stored document; meanwhile, because the data document is opened exclusively by the application procedures, the data assume inferior capacity in shared data and reused applied software, thus, to spoils the system capacity's integration; As to the latter, namely database mode, owing tothe mutual independence between the data and procedure, routine affairs can be applied to modulate and control, thus affectively store and search the data. Meanwhile, exploiting the security check and integrity check which are equipped in the database, the system's integrity can be ensured well. Based on the analysis above, this paper suggests that a mini database management system be built in this home gateway. This mini database fulfils linking and operation of the database by transferring the API function supplied by the database, therefore prepares a user to follow data ally, search and analysis to some dispersive data, thus extending functions of the home gateway to a greater extent, eventually meeting the needs of terminal situation.It is proven by the system software that exploiting the current web resource, this home gateway system claims high-degree security, flexibility, stability and convenience on household electronic appliances' control, shared information. The expected requirements have been fulfilled.
