Research On WS-based Design Resources Management System

With the development of information technology, computer and internet, the development of manufacturing product is not limited to the interior of enterprises any more, but collaborative design in various regions and enterprises, which makes the design information more complex and div ersiform. Therefore organizing and managing effectively the design resource is an important supporting means for enterprise to improve the efficiency of product development, shorten the cycle of product development and enhance the competitive power, and is a good method to solve the problem which manufacturing enterprises in our country must be faced with: the innovation capability is very weak and the period of design is very long. Design resources management system using advanced knowledge management and information technology can organize and manage heterogeneous and distributed knowledge during product design and improve enterprise's competition ability through establishing dsign knowledge manage system.Product knowledge modeling is the base of product design resource management. Through analyzing the feature of the manufacturing product design and researching the existence form and state of product design knowledge, the product model with semantic object is expressed in this paper. The product definition related knowledge which includes the fuction information, assembly information and other knowledge is organized through the product structure tree. With the product configuration management system, the product objects, the product versions and relations among products are maintained.Design resources management system should manage heterogeneous knowledge and distributed knowledge. WS (Web Services) is a distributed computing technique, which can provide functions needed by design resources management. Therefore design resources management system encapsulates design knowledge into Web Services and publishes into internet/intranet in order to share the knowledge across platforms and regions. The interfaces description method based on WSDL of Web Services is discussed for product knowledge resource which can be published and researched after registering in UDDI.On the basis of above theories, DMIS(design master information management system) based on WS is developed in order to solve the problem of design resourse management in DaLian Shipyard Tools Industry CO., and the theory is proved to be feasible by implementation of DMIS.
