GIS(Geographic Information System) has sprung up like bamboo shoots after aspring rain since it was born., and the theories related to it has been developed steadily.In recent years, the embedded technology has been developing rapidly and changingall aspects of human life. With the increasing demand for spatial data, it has been animportant research field that combining the embedded technology with GIS andforming embedded spatial geographic information integration platform.The embedded GIS has been widely used in the fields of military affairs, nationaldefense, field data collection, vehicle navigation, intelligent transportation, smartphone and PDA. The Mobile Position Navigation System based on smart phone andPDA stands out by integrating embedded technology with GSM/GPRS/CDMA andGPRS, improving the convenience and real-time of GIS information collection anddata processing. These mobile devices are characterized with small volume, lightweight and easy to take, making people's life and work more convenient. Therefore, itis urgent to research and develop mobile position navigation system based onembedded GIS.The thesis is mainly concerned with the technique of mobile computation, datamodule and structure of GIS, computer graphics processing, digital map visualization,wireless access, connection, position and navigation of GPS and embeddedtechnology.Firstly, the thesis retraces embedded system's history and present situations,system and structure as well as features and exploitation technology. Secondly, theposition and navigation technology as well as elementary knowledge of wirelessaccess and connection are introduced, followed with the design and implementation ofmobile position navigation system based on embedded GIS. This part analyzes theleading features and key techniques of embedded GIS and probes into the spatial datamodule and structure of mobile position navigation system based on embedded GIS.The thesis puts emphasis on the best path analytic algorithm of mobile positionnavigation system based on embedded GIS and develops the two-way crossoptimizing Dijkstra algorithm. Finally, the functional module has been achieved byusing development tools of Microsoft eVC++4.0 and the platform of eSuperMap5.0.The mobile position navigation system based on embedded GIS has been tested byChinese simulator based on Microsoft CE.Net and achieved the expected effect.
