Combining scientific visualization with geological characterization, 3D geosciencemodeling (3DGM) is used to develop 3D GIS through visualization technology. The mainstudy object of this thesis is to apply the 3DGM to forward and inverse of gravity &magnetism, and develop the system which is suitable for interaction inversion for 3D gravityand magnetic anomalies bodies. In this thesis, the theory method of 3D visualization is studied, and the 3D geologicalmodel is also discussed according to the geological characterization. Using 3D visualizationtechnology, the geological model is expressed in the form of 3D reality picture. At last,human-computer interaction system for forward and inverse of gravity & magnetism isdeveloped. The main content of this thesis is as follows:(1) Discuss the 3D geological model which is divided into three classes: facial models, volumetric models and mixed models, then point out the main problems in 3D geosciencemodeling at present.(2) Adopt the surface-based model to modeling the geological body, in the process ofmodeling, the technique to edit 3D model from orthographic views is used to construct 3Dmodel. A new algorithm for modifying geometric and topological information is presented, including add, delete and move vertex for models. Mouse tracking ball is used to controlmodels rotating freely in interactive environment which provides auxiliary operation forconstructing models.(3) Study the Loop subdividing algorithm which is used to make the geological body morenatural.(4) Study the forward algorithms of gravity & magnetism, then design and develop the 3Dinteraction system for inversion of 3D gravity and magnetic anomalies bodies.
