Nowadays our nation is advocating high education, whole-life study and sequel education.But these requirements can not be easily met with traditional education. In the1990s, with itsrapid development, Internet now has greatly influenced our lives. At the same time, it haschanged our traditional learning approach and network teaching is more and more popular.Network teaching aided on Internet is a new teaching way in which Internet is the main boardof carrying information and a new teaching skill which combines Internet with multi-medium.Network teaching is not restricted by time, space and place;because it can spread everywhereby network and everyone can learn freely at any time and at any places. The appearance ofnetwork teaching satisfies the development trend of education.But network teaching is just now underway, there are still many problems. First, thesystem's intelligence is not high enough and most of them are given mainly to present theinstruction materials, being lack of necessary alternation means. Second, the functions of activeinteraction in existing system are not strong enough. Especially there is no a kind of betterinteractive tool to solve the problem of the knowledge-share and information communicationbetween students and teachers effectively. Third, students can not effectively find the suitableteachers if they use the existing method. Increasing rising and ripping skill of Agent and CSCWjust can make up for these shortcomings.In recent years, the skill of Agent is an active branch of artificial intelligence field. Agentperceives the information from itself and the environment around it, taking actions to realize aseries of targets or missions set up in advance. Its thinker makes software Agent stronglyintelligent and independent. They can communicate, learn and perceive with each other.Computer supported cooperative work (CSCW) is a kind of science which studies how to applycomputer system to support our cooperative work. People have a virtual working environmentof computer to discuss and confer with each other freely by means of CSCW system. The abovehappens to have the same view as the features of education. Therefore, we advocate integratingAgent and CSCW and applying them to Internet distant education to construct an Agent-basednetwork cooperative teaching system.This dissertation is mainly studying the two aspects, and following are the detailed work.(1) Introduce a relation web model from social cooperation mechanism to represent therelationships among Agents and propose a strategy to form an Agent coalition based onacquaintance set of this model.(2) Combine the skills of Agent and CSCW with network teaching, put forward a model ofnetwork teaching system which is based on Agent skill, and analyze the function and structureof all Agents. Being based on the teacher acquaintance set of all the Agents in this model, abetter algorithm on how a student Agent searches for a teacher Agent efficiently is designed anda concrete strategy to form a teacher Agent coalition is also proposed.(3) Apply the electronic whiteboard of CSCW to the network teaching system andconstruct a model of Agent-based electronic whiteboard that can be regarded as a blackboard ina virtual classroom.(4) Put theories above into practice, and design & realize a network learning system basedon Agent technology under J2EE development framework.This paper integrates Agent and CSCW and applies them to the network teaching, which isa new attempt. Practice proved that our work is feasible and effective. It greatly boosts upalternation and cooperation of network teaching and also improves students' study efficiency.
