Bar Code technology plays an important role in the commodity currency in modern society, picking up the velocity of commodity currency and improving the working efficiency. However, the one-dimensional bar code used in modern society have many limits, such as little data capacity, poor error correction capability and .so on. The invention of two-dimensional bar code solve the problems mentioned before in a considerable degree. With comparatively large capacity, two-dimensional bar bodes are able to restore many kinds of data and have excellent capability of error correction, so they will accommodate the development of modern society better and have an extensive perspective of application for their low cost.QR Code is an efficient one of many kinds of two-dimensional codes. In this paper, the effective combination of face detection technology and QR Code generation technology will be introduced, where the automatic face detection system get the face image data and input the data to the QR Code generation system. Taking advantage of large data capacity and excellent error correction capability of QR Code, the face image data is restored in the QR Code, without any dependence on database. In Chapter2, the encoding rules of QR Code, components and the computation of error correction algorithm are presented. In Chapter3, the automatic face detection system will be introduced. The system detects the region of the face through procedures, including the background comparing, smearing, filling in and detecting the edge of face region basing on the fall. The face image data is inputted to the QR Code generation system, keeping the veracity and real-time performance. In Chapter 4, the procedure in which the face image is converted to QR Code will be proposed. The main steps include designing the data structure, encoding the data code and error correction code, computing the order of the inputted code word, computing the position where the code word is written into the QR Code, masking the QR code, drawing the function pattern, version information and format information.In the end of paper, the experiments results, i.e. detected face image and the generated QR Code, are illustrated. The image restored in the QR Code are read out and compared with the inputted face image to verify the correctness of the result of the experiments. The results show that the face image could be read out from QR Code exactly even from some damaged QR codes.
