Along with china's economic boom, the number of vessels is growing fast in these years. It becomes a great challenge for the government to improve the vessel traffic management. The traditional manage system don't capable of handling the issue any more.Considering that the current VTS(VESSEL TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM) system ask for a giant investment and week in automatic and information integrity and the price of the terminal is high, it is not suitable to be equipped by small and middle of vessels. In order to solve this problem, we designed a new VTS system which takes the adventure of the GPRS network and the advance of the embedded system technology to make the terminal affordable for small vessels.We use the GPRS network which is available in most of the places to transfer date and communicate. In this way, we reduce the investment and feature in translating date faster with longer distance. Meanwhile, it's convenience to catch up with the development of the 3G technology. The terminal use GPS module to locate and with IC card reader, LCD panel, EEPROM, keyboard integrated, provide a common hardware system to realize more complicated VTS system.The terminal is based on the ARM platform and embedded operation system uC/OS, make the system feature in stable, easy maintance and flexible.
