At present, the power line carrier communication has entered the full digital time, whilemost of power line carriers, which are in use in the domestic power line communicationnetwork , are still of analogue. It is essential that we have to lay emphasis on the digitalcarriers. As for a channel of the power line digital carrier, the digitalization of modulation anddemodulation, which is the topic of this paper, is most important.With the help of high efficient implementation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink,DSPBuilder,ModelSim and Quartus II etc, the thesis has adopted the classical EDA design whichis from the top to bottom and performed the following: design and simulation of systematicfunction model ,TRL simulation based on VHDL code,time simulation dependent on gatelevel system and hardware testing in object-chip, finally it is proved that the design is right.The paper introduces situation of power line carrier communication and further analyzesthe algorithm of modulation and demodulation and design flow of modern DSP . In themodulation and demodulation system 16QAM is in use, the data rate is 16k/s in the 4Ktransport channel. At the same time, the means of data transport with many different kinds ofspeed is introduced. The method of pursuing and comparing phase is applied in the comebackof carrier phase in receiver to adjust the phase of carrier and make demands for signal ofreceiver. The two independent systems have been tested and validated successfully, which isproved that the schedule is completely right.
