Research On Multimedia Communication Technology And Its Application In Distant Education

As the computer and network technologies became more and more mature, networked learning environments can make education and training more accessible, convenient, focused, effective for learners. The improvement of multimedia communication technologies on Internet brings on the revolution of traditional education mode. Multimedia distant education with network characteristic is growing up, so it is necessary to research on Multimedia Communication technology and its application in distant education.The thesis introduces the basis, the design idea and the process of concretely realization in great detail. At first, we analyze the actuality of multimedia distance education, summarize the characteristic of it and forecast the future of it. After analyzed the background of multimedia transport on Internet and established the task to be finished, the thesis introduces the conception of multimedia communication, brings forward the transport protocol, and compares the applicability and capability of these standards and conception based on the requirement of multimedia distant education.The thesis analyses the requirement of distant education based on these theory, and set up the system framework and function module. The paper introduces the technique and method of the system implementation using Java as the system platform because of the virtue and possibility of Java. The paper discusses the implementation of system and the function of module objects, presents the runtime environment.At the end of dissertation, it emphasizes on the shortage of this system, and suggests some advice on this system.
