Web service uses the unified Web standard to shield difference between platforms. Web service has realized the Web application interoperation and highly integration across platforms. Web service's essential target is to construct a technical layer, which is universal, platform independent, and language independent. Application procedures on different platforms depend upon this technical layer to realize connection and the integration, in order to provide various services for the users. By using the Web service, companies and individuals can rapidly provide service through the Internet to global users, and use services provided by other companies and individuals. Web service realized the goal of "software is service". Web service's characteristic is complete encapsulation, loose coupling, interoperation, standardization and highly integration ability. Web service is becoming the mainstream technology for next generation's web application.UDDI has four data types;they are business entity, business service, binding template and tModel. In the UDDI standard contains web service programmer API. Programmer can operate UDDI registry by programming with API. UDDI programmer API includes query API and manipulation API. Query API is for search information in UDDI registry. Manipulation API is for save, modify or delete information in UDDI registry.Along with the development of web service technology, more and more enterprises use the Web service. With the rapid development and application of Web service, web service security problems become more and more important. In order to construct safe Web services, companies in IT field formulated the WS-Security standard. WS-Security is the mainstream Web service security standard. WS-Security is a set of Web service security specifications. WS-Security provided a mechanism to guarantee the Web service security.This thesis thoroughly studies the web service composition technology. This thesis studies the web service deployment mechanism emphatically and discusses the UDDI data structure and UDDI programmer API in detail. This thesis hasimplemented a private UDDI registration center, and discussed the web service security problem and solution. The thesis includes 6 chapters. The first chapter elaborates the research significance and the present situation, as well as main work of this thesis. The second chapter elaborates the web service technology, including web service system construction, web service application field and its composition technology, such as XML, SOAP, WSDL and UDDI. The third chapter discusses the UDDI mechanism, including UDDI data structure, UDDI programmer API, and web service publish and deployment, as well as registration center realization technology. The fourth chapter realizes a web service information deployment system based on JUDDI. Users can query, publish or delete data from the registration center. The fifth chapter discusses the Web service's security and solution, and discusses how to enhance web service security by utilization of Microsoft Web Services Enhancement. The sixth chapter is a summary and forecast of this thesis.
