The traditional C/S model has been popular for a long time. It was a successful solution for enterprise application. However, since 1990s, with applications on the Internet becoming more and more widely and Internet technology being more and more advanced, the traditional C/S model appears obviously not to meet the development requirement of modern enterprise applications.The original computer architecture has been evolved from the 2-tier C/S architecture to the 3-tier distributed architecture. The 3-tier distributed architecture equals to adding a new tier, the Logical application tier, between client tier and server tier. The new added application tier is composed of business logic separated out from client tier and storage procedures in database. The application tier can decrease the code quantity in client, and focus to manage business logic. Therefore, the multi-tier system must have the following features: distributed, well scaled, retractable and secure.The emergence of distributed component object technology has provided powerful solution for network software development. Now, distributed component object technology has already become to be a core technology that establishes the Web service application framework. It expresses the mighty vitality of exploring or implementing the large distributed application systems, especially electronic commerce system.In distributional system development, security authentication is a quite essential problem. At present, although CA authentication systems have been deployed quite many in our country, however so far they do not have the unification standard. Each province or even each enterprise has its own CA authentication center. Considering such a critical situation this thesis discusses the principle of digital signature and its international standard. At the same time the CA authentication system structure and the basic functions have been explained. Then the role of the CA authentication system has been analyzed for developing a distributed online bank system.The thesis is organized as following: firstly it introduces concepts and basic principles of the distributed component technology based on EJB and e-business application architecture on the distributed environment, then analyzes the EJB which is applied in Web-based, distributed enterprise systems, especially in e-business application design and implementation as a kind of distributed object technology. Finally a demo example is given to describe the structure and its implementation based on the J2EE.The objective of the thesis is focused on an online bank project. In the thesis, a general e-commerce platform upon the J2EE application server has been designed and implemented by the EJB technology with the multi-tier architecture. The system model framework, its design and implementation details of an on line banking system has been given.
