In grid environment, the performance of resources fluctuates dynamically because the resources are heterogeneous, distributed and autonomous, which makes it rather difficult in grid environment to manage resources, schedule jobs and tuning QoS effectively. So it is quite helpful to predict the performance that grid resources can deliver in the future, the result of which can be used to provide effective resource allocation, ensure high QoS (Quality of Service) and keep the grid system dynamically load-balanced.This dissertation presents several methods of predicting grid resource performance. The main work of this dissertation is following:Using of fractal method to predict the available resource performance based on the conclusion that the performance of grid resource has strong self-similarity..Using of regression method to predict run time of grid services with intensive characteristics which can be found among many services in grid environment.Using of fuzzy method to predict the number of request users, which can be used in resource reservation to ensure high QoS.At last, we conclude the dissertation with the work we have done and point out where our research is going in future.
