Inventory Management is an important part of logistics as well as a significant field of logistics research. Controlling inventory to the optimum level and obtaining maximum supply guarantee are not only the aim what many enterprises and economists are pursuing after but also play a crucial role in competitions among corporations. There are many indexes to reflect the level of inventory management. The majority of corporations usually save the cost of inventory management by reducing the cost of order and storage. They may also fall back on inventory velocity to assess inventory performance while overlook the influence on inventory cost, prolongation of response time and descending of service level caused by out of stock, which will lead to losing of client resources.Aiming at client service level of inventory management, this paper studies patterns of inventory management through researching on adjusting safe inventory to ensure service level and brings forward a new opinion of modeling of multi-agent system of inventory management by integrating technology of multi-agent.This paper expatiates on the thinking and ways and means of multi-agent modeling and studies its application in modeling of inventory management system. On base of analyzing character and internal structure of inventory management system and taking into account the traits and capabilities of single-agent system and multi-agent system, the author establishes IMOMAS (Inventory Management Oriented Multi-Agent System) by adopting multi-agent modeling technology. In this process, author analyzes dynamic and intelligence trait of IMOMAS, does detailed design for special function of different agents composing the system and studies communication, interaction, cooperation pattern and reasoning ability among and of those agents.Finally, taking an inventory system of fast-consuming goods as background, this paper dose system simulation experiment and makes contract and analysis of testing result. From the result, we can get a conclusion that IMOMAS can keep inventory management at a certain level of client service, optimize the composing of inventory cost which improve the entire performance of inventory system and achieve theanticipated purpose.
