| Modern distance education constructs a network-based virtual educationenvironment by combining computer networking, multimedia, artificial intelligenceand other advanced technology. It exceeds the resource limitation in traditionalteaching mode, such as teachers, experimental equipments, teaching materials and soon. At the limited scale of education resource, it provides a way to achieve a morescalable education ability, and overcomes the shortcomings in the traditional mode ofeducation, such as the rigid teaching scheduling, limited teaching methods, and thehardness to care the differences and personalities of the students. And the educationalquality will be improved as well.CSCW (Computer Supported Cooperative Work) is a technology that supportssetting up modern distance education. This article mainly discusses the virtualclassroom system based on CSCW network, which includes a coordinated browsingsystem, a chat tool, a cooperation system for 3D graphic, a VIDEO-Conferencesystem and an evaluation system based on web.Using the coordinate browsing system, students who locate all over the world caneasily browse the web pages following the teacher. The chat system in text mode is asimple talking tool in text mode. The cooperating system for 3D graphic providesusers the ability to operate on the three dimension graphic object coordinately. Theevaluation system let students do exercises or self-test in the web browser. TheVIDEO-Conference system is a multimedia cooperative working system, whichincludes video order and VIDEO-Conference functions.This thesis describes the system structure for virtual classroom system andstructure and technical details of each module. |
