Topic in this paper comes from the company's project.This project is developedbased on open source project JBPM and GPD.JBPM is a lightweight workflowmanagement system based on J2EE.GPD is a visualized workflow process designerwhich is specialized for JBPM workflow engine. This project is a complete workflowsystem, providing a complete solution for the development, run, and management ofworkflow.Workflow technique is a newly arisen research direction that develops in 90's inlast century.It is one of the most potential directions in the realms of computerapplication technique and information technique.Introduction part of this paper doesinvestigation and categorization to workflow product on the market.Thus makereaders understand the domestic and international development state of workflowtechnique.J2EE is the most popular and a second to none technique structure or softwareplatform for enterprise application.This paper combines the project to introduce thedevelopment environment of the project and related technique of J2EE, makingreaders have an understanding to J2EE, thus better understand the whole project.This paper combines concrete example to go deep in to analyze the runningprocess of JBPM workflow engine, analyzed the procedure structure and workflowmodel of JBPM and introduced component model of JBPM. Make readers drawinference from one example to get a clear conception about workflow engine andworkflow management system.The whole project is divided into two parts, the first part is a JBPM related, andthe second part is a GPD related.This paper indroduced these tow parts covering thewhole development process of software system, including requirement, design, codeand test.This paper still introduced in team development and project configuremanagement and make summary finally in the paper and take a outlook of Javatechnique.The system that this paper developed has already thrown in the usage in company.
