System Design Of Video Traffic Information Detection Based On DSP

Recent years, ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) technology hasmade a great progress in the world. The Video Traffic InformationDetection System discussed in the paper plays an important part in theITS, and the image processing technique is used in this system to obtainall the information that is needed in the traffic management. The systemdesign adopts TI's general purpose DSP-TMS320C6211 to guaranteesystem's high real-time performance.Firstly, this paper reviews the character of DSP and introduces somebasic knowledge about TI's new DSP chip-TMS320C6211 simply,including its architecture, core, peripheral and developing environment.In addition, some primary issues about program development based onDSP are also covered.In the second part, the detection algorithm adopted in the system isdiscussed, including its primary principle, algorithm flow, each module'srealization and all the modules' mutuality etc. The algorithm'sintroduction makes bases for the subsequent detection program.The third part describes the detection program design of the systememphatically. In the structure part, the program architecture, modules,sub-modules, and the relationship among all of the modules areintroduced. In the particular part, the realization of each module,sub-module and their mutuality are detailed according to some codesegment. Additionally, combining with the C6211 DSP's character anddeveloping environment, the program's realization based on DSP is alsodiscussed.At last, the debugging environment is simply introduced, and thensome questions about program debugging are discussed and the way toresolve them is got. What's more, referring to the experiment results, thereal-time performance and detection precision of the system are alsodiscussed here.
