During 21st century, Chinese publishing industry begins to reform with the development of Chinese socialist market economy system and the commitment of Chinese entry into WTO. This reform aims to dividing operating business from publishing bureau, which united operating business and administrative bureau as one. Publishing group is built up based upon capital, the former subordinated publishing press become subsidiary of publishing group. Accounting information supplied by publishing group was totaled financial statements in the past. Apparently, totaled financial statements can not justly and objectively reflect financial situation during the circumstances of various internal transaction. The author insists that consolidated financial statement could better reflect operating situation. This paper points out the general theory and compiling method of consolidated financial statements. According to the statistics of consolidated balance sheet, consolidated income statement and consolidated cash liquidated statement of publishing group of H province in 2004,we can know that accounting information of consolidated financial statements and totaled financial statements differs. According to contrast of lever ratio, liquidation ratio, efficiency ratio and income ratio, we can positively learn that the scale of group decreases, liquidation ability increases, the capital flow decreases, income capability lessens. Furthermore, to the management team of group, the information of consolidated financial statements values as to improving the whole scale, income and competition advantage.
