As the rapidly development of the-mobile terminal (mobile phone), PDA etc, the application of the embeded equipments with high performance, low cost and low consumption of power is more and more extensively in military field, and the embeded operating system which is the core of the embeded equipments has already developed from simple function to professional strong function. The processing machine of artillery information based on singlechip technique obviously unfit for battle nowadays, however the new GPS receiver is difficult to process data due to the difference of interfaces. But combine effective combination-the ARM embeded operating system and GPS module, which has the mature technique, reliable performance and special superority, can resolve the existing problem completely, and has the characteristics of fast orientation, accurate measure and calculation, quick transfer, convenience conductor.This paper describes the improvement of artillery information processing machine from both sides of hardware and software combining the concrete application of the GPS module based on detaile analyzing platform of the ARM processor hardware and uClinux embedded operating system by linux-debian system. The hardware design part includes SAMSUNG'S ARM development board of S3C4510B, The wireless communication module, The LCD display module, GPS module. The software design includes the wireless communication program which implements function of data receiving, LCD figure display program which implements Framebuffer's display driver, GPS data transmission program which implements the function of reading and data processing, data's encrypting which confirm data's security.This project analyzes current shortage of the existing equipments established to the practice by taking advantages of PDA and GPS technique according to special request of troops, and by making good use of the Linux system, carrys on the valid integration to the existing module based on uClinux by adapting the modulized and layer design pattern, and finally implement a concrete improvement opinion.
