| Workflow technology is one of the system technologies that attract most software development engineers and customers, and it is widely applied in OAS(Office Automation System)development now.This article firstly discusses the status and up-dated application of Workflow in OAS, then analyses the concept and characteristics of Workflow technology based on WfMC(Workflow Management Coalition). On basis of comparing the most popular OAS develop platforms and analyzing the function needs of OAS, this article points out that Lotus Domino/Notes is the most suitable platform for OAS development. According to the model of WfMS(Workflow Management System), this article analyses the characteristics and Workflow mechanism of Domino/Notes, sums up the layout and application methods in this circumstance. After that, this article deeply studies the application of Workflow technology in OAS, gives a develop method of OAS based on Workflow technology, and presents a system model of OAS based on Workflow technology.This article presents a three-tier architecture model of OA Workflow System that accord with the criteria of WfMC. The application data are separated from process data in the model, which resolve the problem of reuse of process template. In order to acquire the convenience of process description, this article presents a new idea of process definition that only a single design element is used. This new idea can efficiently describe most popular business processes that used in OAS, such as sequence flow, split flow, join flow, loop flow and the combination of all above. And cooperating with relevant flow control algorithm, it can easily describe most complex flow and simplify the operation of process modeling. At last, this article studies the implementation of Workflow engine in OAS based on Lotus Domino/Notes. |
